Your mental health deserves deeper care than a quick prescription

HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT

Conventional approaches to mental health may not be right for you

Conventional Psychiatry

✔️ Can improve symptoms with medication, sometimes without changing anything else in your life

Can take anywhere from 3 months to over a year to find the right medication and dosage

Often does not address root causes; instead just alleviates symptoms, so more symptoms and side effects may creep up over time

Does not take into account lifestyle, nutrition, or physical imbalances contributing to mental health

Does not address past trauma or nervous system dysregulation

Limited time with your practitioner, making you feel like “a number”

Talk Therapy

✔️ Can help you feel less alone in your symptoms

✔️ Can help you work through past trauma or current relational or thought-based struggles contributing to your mental health

Does not take into account lifestyle, nutrition, or physical imbalances contributing to mental health

May not work for you because it’s hard to just “think or talk your way out of your problems”

May not address nervous system dysregulation

May “never end,” as you keep talking about your issues but nothing ever gets easier

WELCOME

You’ve found an alternative path to better mental health

My whole-body approach

✔️ Focuses on root-cause healing, not just suppressing symptoms, so your symptoms go away for good

✔️ Considers causes from the whole body, not just your thoughts or brain chemistry, so you don’t fight against your body to heal

✔️ Improves complete health — not only mental health but also physical health and energy levels — so you feel better overall

✔️ Extended time spent with you to understand your history (no rushing), so I can create a custom wellness plan that works fast

✔️ Medication is not forced on you if you don’t want it; in fact, we can plan to reduce the number or dosage of current medications

✔️ Helps your body feel safe to support faster, deeper, more permanent mental health improvements

Note: my approach is not ideal for someone who seeks a “magic pill” solution or is not open and motivated to make sustainable lifestyle and nutrition changes.

Jessica Kettell, PMHNP-BC

Hello, I’m Jessica Kettell, PMHNP-BC

I have a burning desire to help others on their journey to mental wellness because of my own experiences with trauma, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and insomnia.

Throughout my childhood and early adult life, safety and peace were often just out of reach. From years of chronic stress, my body became accustomed to living in fight-or-flight mode. Eventually, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I reached my breaking point. Working long hours in an intensive care unit and having constant fear and stress of the unknown caused me to spiral. In March of 2020, I experienced my first panic attack, and they began happening more frequently. Even though I was a year shy of completing my psychiatry program, I had yet to learn how to reduce my symptoms without medication. So, I reached out to a psychiatrist who took my insurance. Unfortunately, the next available appointment with a traditional psychiatrist was three months away, so I realized I had to find an alternative method to heal — and FAST!

To my surprise, by the time my psychiatry appointment finally arrived, I had already freed myself from the grip of panic attacks and anxiety — without medication. And so began my journey into holistic mental health.

This intense period of healing was a turning point for me, and I pursued a new focus in holistic psychiatry. I love the science of this work, but what keeps me going is a burning desire to be a positive, deeply caring advocate for my clients. I dedicate multiple hours per week to better understand the latest research in functional medicine and mental health treatments to help you get better faster, with fewer side effects.

Today, my practice is built on the belief that true healing requires addressing both the mind and body. I am looking forward to helping you heal too!
